This week in math we played games with cards and practiced multiplication.
In reading, we have groups that are reading Clementine, Stink Solar System Superhero, and Roxie and the Hooligans.
We are writing true stories about ourselves.
In Science, we are learning about magnets. We tried to find things in our classroom that they would stick to.
In Social Studies, we read a legend about Mt. Katahdin and the Atlantic Ocean.

We also had some special visitors. Rangers came in and their names were Ranger Cynthia and Ranger Hannah. They gave us skits to perform about the jobs they have in the park. They also gave us books with activities.
*Third graders will become Jr. Rangers on Friday, October 16*

We are looking forward to getting our iPads. We will be using them on Monday. Yay, it's awesome!

We have had a busy first few weeks of school and everyone is settling in nicely. This year third graders will be writing updates for our classroom blog. Each week a new group of students (and some guidance from Mrs. Tripp) will have the opportunity to brainstorm and write an update about the week. We would all love to read your comments back!

Students worked together to solve a math word
problem. Then they created posters to show their
thinking.

Table groups had to work together to come up
with a group name. Shown above is group
"Wubble Bubble."

Stay tuned for our next post created by third graders!!
